Organic crystal-based flexible smart materials

چکیده

Although the famous brittle characteristics of molecular crystals are unfavorable when they used as flexible smart materials (FSMs), an increasing number organic crystal-based FSMs have been reported recently. This breaks perception their stiff and properties promises a bright future for basic research practical applications. Crystalline present considerable advantages over polymer under certain circumstances, rendering them potential candidates applications, such rapidly responsive actuators, ON/OFF switching, microrobots. In this review, we summarize recent developments in field FSMs, including derivatives azobenzene, diarylethene, anthracene, olefin. These can bend, curl, twist, deform, or respond otherwise to external stimuli, heat light. The detailed mechanisms behaviors discussed with applications exciting intelligent fields. We believe review could provide guidelines toward fabrication novel advanced
